Biofilms are one of the biggest threats to the food industries. Biofilms are complex communities of microorganisms capable of colonizing and adhering to most surfaces. A mature biofilm is a source of critical contamination, due to the protection afforded by SPE, and difficult to remove since they are highly resistant to conventional cleaning and disinfection procedures.
These can be a source of contamination by pathogenic microorganisms, which suposes a risk to consumer health. Biofilms can also be a major cause of contamination by disruptive bacteria that can degrade quality and reduce the shelf life of food. In addition to the economic impact associated with the loss of production batches, returns and claims, the presence of biofilms can have a significant impact on food security.
In general, biofilm removal products should be applied at high temperatures; between 45 and 55ºC to ensure its effectiveness. However, many industries do not have hot water in their facilities, so the task of eliminating biofilms is complicated.
To respond to this situation, Itram Higiene launches its Enzycold line, an enzymatic detergent that is capable of acting with cold water, starting at approximately 20ºC.

Itram Hygiene launches a range of enzyme products to enable the prevention and elimination of biofilms for those industries that do not have hot water in their facilities. The EnzyCold line of enzymes is capable of acting at low temperatures, or what is the same, at tap water temperature.

ENZYCOLD FOAM is an enzymatic detergent specially formulated for the control and elimination of biofilms in food industry facilities. Is applied to open surfaces by means of foam spraying equipment, without the need for an elevated temperature, approximately from 20ºC
It can be used as a shock treatment to eliminate biofilms or as a preventive treatment to prevent its reappearance. It is used alone or in combination with BIOJET, depending on the type of treatment.
ENZYCOLD CIP is a non-foaming enzymatic treatment specially formulated for the control and elimination of biofilms from the food industry. Antibiofilm treatment can be applied in closed circuits such as “CIP” systems (pipes, tanks, circuits) or by immersion / soaking, without the need for a high temperature. It can be used as a shock treatment to eliminate biofilms or as a preventive treatment to prevent its reappearance.
